Position Description

We are currently seeking a Clinical Research Project Coordinator (CRPC) for the SickKids Labatt Family Heart Centre Biobank and the Cardiac Precision Medicine Program funded by the Ted Rogers Centre for Heart Research. The CRPC will support the operational, recruitment, biospecimen, and data management needs of multiple clinical research studies, including single-centre and multicenter retrospective and prospective studies, in accordance with institutional, regulatory, and ethical guidelines. Responsibilities include research participant recruitment and consent, coordination of biospecimen collection and processing activities, initiation of sample orders and registrations, medical record review and abstraction, data entry, data validation, project oversight, and preparation of study reports. The CRPC will work closely with investigators, research staff, clinical teams, laboratory personnel, and collaborating centres to support study execution, data quality, and project deliverables.

Here's What You'll Get To Do

• Work within a diverse research team to initiate, coordinate, and see studies through to completion.
• Maintain a working knowledge of study protocols, regulatory requirements, and best practices governing clinical research, biobanking, privacy, and data management.
• Recruit and enroll research participants, support informed consent processes, and coordinate participant follow-up activities.
• Coordinate biospecimen-related activities, including initiating sample orders, facilitating sample collection and processing, maintaining sample inventories, and participant/sample registration.
• Perform detailed medical record review and abstraction of clinical and research data according to study protocols.
• Develop, maintain, and update case report forms (CRFs), questionnaires, and study tracking tools.
• Oversee and maintain study databases and multicentre datasets, including data entry, validation, cleaning, harmonization, quality assurance, discrepancy resolution, monitoring, and preparation of datasets for reporting and analysis.
• Prepare datasets, reports, dashboards, and study metrics to support data access requests, project monitoring, analysis, and reporting activities.
• Maintain program communication tools (websites, social media, and other distribution channels).
• Foster collaborative relationships with clinical teams, participating centres, and external partners through regular meetings, rounds, and educational activities.
• Contribute innovative ideas to improve research operations, participant recruitment, database management, reporting efficiency, and visualization tools.

Here's What You'll Need

• Bachelor's degree in health sciences, life sciences or a related discipline; an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience will be considered.
• Completion of the Tri-Council Policy Statement: Ethical Conduct for Research Involving Humans (TCPS2) and CITI Good Clinical Practice (GCP) certification is required upon hire. Candidates who have already completed one or both certifications will be considered an asset.
• Experience with participant recruitment, informed consent processes, large research datasets and research coordination is preferred.
• Familiarity with cardiology, biobanking, precision medicine, and genetics is an asset.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, OneDrive, Teams).
• Experience with research electronic data capture systems (i.e. REDCap) and laboratory information management systems.
• Familiarity with hospital electronic health records systems (i.e. Epic) and pedigree software is considered an asset.
• Strong organizational, problem-solving, and project coordination skills with exceptional attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, interpersonal, and facilitation skills.
• Demonstrated commitment and actions in advancing equity, diversity, and inclusion objectives
