eHealth Careers (“we”, “us”) operates this job board for health-informatics and digital-health roles in Canada. This policy explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, and the choices you have. We handle personal information in accordance with Canada’s Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and applicable provincial privacy laws.
Information we collect
- Account information. When you sign in we collect your email address. We use passwordless “magic link” sign-in, so we never collect or store a password.
- Subscription and billing information. If you subscribe to a premium plan, your payment is processed entirely by Stripe. We do not see or store your full card number; we retain only your subscription status and the identifiers Stripe returns so we can manage your access.
- Job-search activity. We store the jobs you save, the search alerts you create, and—when you opt in to distance sorting—the address or location you provide so we can rank jobs by proximity.
- Usage and device information. When analytics are enabled, we and our providers collect standard technical data such as IP address, browser type, pages viewed, and referring links to understand how the site is used.
How we use your information
- To authenticate you and keep you signed in.
- To provide the service—showing jobs, saved listings, alerts, and proximity-based sorting.
- To process subscriptions, manage premium access, and send service-related emails (for example, sign-in links and job alerts).
- To operate, secure, and improve the site, including measuring usage.
- To comply with legal obligations.
Cookies and analytics
We use a small number of cookies that are necessary for the site to function—most importantly an authentication cookie that keeps you signed in after you use a magic link. Where enabled, we also use analytics services such as Google Analytics and Hotjar, along with our own event logging, to understand how visitors use the site. These services may set their own cookies and collect usage data. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, though doing so may prevent you from staying signed in.
How we share information
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with service providers who help us run the service, including:
- Stripe for payment processing and subscription management.
- Email delivery providers for sign-in links and job alerts.
- Analytics providers (such as Google Analytics and Hotjar) where enabled.
We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect our rights, users, or the security of the service.
Data retention
We keep your account information for as long as your account is active. You can ask us to delete your account and associated data at any time. We may retain certain records, such as billing history, where required for legal, accounting, or fraud-prevention purposes.
Your choices and rights
Subject to applicable law, you may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information, and you may withdraw consent to non-essential processing. You can unsubscribe from job-alert emails using the link in those emails or by managing your alerts in your account. To make a request, email us at the address below.
Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards to protect your information, including encrypted connections and passwordless authentication. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Children
The service is intended for working professionals and is not directed to children under the age of 16.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above. Significant changes will be communicated where appropriate.
