Location: Kingston General Hospital Site
DESCRIPTION:
To provide initial and on-going education and training to Health Information Management Professionals at KHSC for clinical data collection and abstracting. To monitor and assess the impact of changes in data classification standards on departmental practices. To address internal coding queries and source out expert guidelines to respond to the queries. To identify data quality issues, conduct audits and institute education as required for both sites. To develop and conduct education sessions related to data collection and quality. To ensure the completeness, quality and accessibility of accurate health record information by coding, analyzing, and abstracting data from the patients’ records. To conduct audits and provide interpretation of the data in the Med2020 Winrecs and Oncology abstracting computer system. To ensure NACRS Level 1 and 3, DAD, OMHRS, Trauma, CCO deadlines are met. To code and abstract data from the patients records which will provide support for statistical analysis, research and peer review by hospital staff, Ministry of Health, CIHI, and Cancer Care Ontario.
