Primary responsibilities center on an electronic patient record (EPR/Epic) implementation and ongoing operations — developing/delivering training, curriculum, and workflow support for clinical and non-clinical users (digital health/clinical informatics work).
Following the successful implementation of Unity Health Toronto’s electronic patient record (EPR) system in November 2024, Unity Health’s Digital team is preparing to extend our Epic instance to Sinai Health through a new shared EPR project. To support this next phase of work, we are looking to build capacity for both Unity’s ongoing EPR operations and the Sinai extension project.
We are seeking a Principal Trainer to support end users through effective, engaging training and help ensure long-term adoption and success.
Job Profile:
The Principal Trainer plays a key role in the development and delivery of training content for specific modules within our electronic patient record (EPR) system and other hospital systems. This role bridges technology, clinical workflows, and professional practice to deliver high-quality education to end users across the organization.
The ideal candidate brings expertise in curriculum design, adult education, and the use of varied delivery methods and evaluation tools. Working within the EPR governance structure, the Principal Trainer is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining a comprehensive education program that supports both clinical and non-clinical staff in effectively and efficiently using the EPR to manage all aspects of patient care.
Main Responsibilities:
Curriculum Development and End User Training
Provides Ongoing Evaluation, Testing and Revision of Work Flows
Participation in Meetings
Qualifications:
Unity Health Toronto is committed to creating an accessible and inclusive organization. We strive to provide a recruitment process that is barrier-free and in compliance with the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) and the Ontario Human Rights Code. We understand that you may require an accommodation at any stage of the recruitment process. We want to emphasize that all accommodation requests are handled with the utmost confidentiality, respecting your privacy and dignity.
