eHealth role summary

Position centers on medical image analysis and radiomics research (ultrasound, CT, MRI) for cancer treatment prediction/monitoring — a healthcare data/analytics and clinical imaging role (digital health/health informatics).

Sunnybrook Research Institute is the research enterprise of Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre, a teaching hospital fully affiliated with the University of Toronto. Research spans three Toronto-based campuses, eight programs and three scientific platforms. Our main aims are to understand and prevent disease, and to develop treatments that enhance and extend life. Our vision is to invent the future of health care. Each year, we conduct about $100 million in research across 500,000 square feet, including in the world’s first Centre for Research in Image-Guided Therapeutics.

 

Dr. Czarnota's laboratory is conducting basic and clinical research into radiomics-based ultrasound methods for cancer chemotherapy treatment response prediction and monitoring, as well as using new ultrasound-stimulated microbubble methods to enhance effects of radiation-treatments for cancer.

 

Summary of Duties:

  • Organizing and conducting ultrasound-radiomic studies
  • Organizing and conducting CT and MRI-radiomic studies
  • Other - as needed

 

Qualifications:

  • Successful completion of M.Sc or Ph.D. in biomedical or related sciences
  • Experience with imaging methodologies and image analysis
  • Strong interpersonal, time management and organizational skills.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills and attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in English language usage
  • Demonstrated knowledge of research regulations and guidelines
