eHealth role summary

Role supports clinical research operations including implementation of processes and training on research data systems (REDCap), metric collection and documentation—activities tied to health informatics/clinical systems and research IT support.

About this role

The Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH) is currently seeking a full-time, contract (12-month) Program Officer to support on-going activities across Clinical Research.  

Reporting to the Research Operations Manager, Clinical Research, you will also have accountability to Director, Clinical Research. You will assist with: administrative support for core clinical research services, including invoicing, metric collection, scheduling and distributing information around educational workshops; support onboarding and orientation of new staff and trainees; supporting special projects across clinical research divisions. The role will also involve working on small projects, supporting the development and implementation of processes and clinical research services, supporting training and orientation for research staff and scientists on new systems, monitoring and providing in-depth review of documentation and assisting the Research Operations Manager with large scaled projects.

Qualifications

The successful candidate must have a Bachelor’s Degree in a related field e.g., Health Administration, Public Health, Psychology, or Neuroscience, with three (3) years of related professional experience. A minimum of one year of research operations experience is required. Previous research or service experience with individuals and/or families with mental health and addictions issues is an asset. In addition, the successful candidate will possess the following skills:

Excellent interpersonal skills along with the ability to collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams including, research and clinical staff and research administrative personnel

Highly detail-oriented with demonstrated ability to exercise initiative and good judgment and effectively work independently while supporting a fast-paced, high-functioning work environment and monitoring personal and team-level deliverables

High proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Forms, Word, and PowerPoint

Previous experience with REDCap is considered an asset

Well-honed time management skills with the ability to efficiently multi-task and produce high-quality, accurate work while meeting deadlines, maintaining flexibility to changing priorities and remaining solution-focused. Demonstrated experience working on multiple projects is required.

A strong understanding of Quality Assurance practices and Research Ethics Board procedures is preferred

Previous experience with the conduct of clinical research, from study start up to close out is required

Excellent communication skills, both oral and written

Familiarity with Finance procedures, along with the ability to manage budgetary data is an asset.

Ability to work effectively in a variety of settings with individuals from diverse backgrounds

Bilingualism (French/English) and/or proficiency in a second language is an asset.

The successful candidate will have advanced influencing and negotiation skills, organizational and root cause analysis, as well as, the ability to solve complex problems and recommend solutions.

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Hiring Salary Range: $63,824.57 – $79,780.71 per year (based on qualifications and experience)
  • Full Salary Range: $63,824.57 – $95,736.85 per year (reflecting potential growth within the role)
