Role focuses on quality assurance and improvement of 911 emergency call-taking and dispatch processes within an ambulance communications centre, including use of CAD, call logger/telephony systems and a provincial reporting database — i.e., working on healthcare information systems, workflows and data for clinical/operational decision-making.

PRIMARY FUNCTION
Reporting to the Manager, Quality Assurance and Administration. The Quality Programs Officer will;
Assist in the maintenance of the comprehensive Provincial Quality Assurance Program for the ongoing monitoring, assessment and improvement of all aspects of 911 emergency call taking and dispatching processes within the Kingston Central Ambulance Communication Centre (CACC).
Identify quality issues pertaining to the processing of 911 emergency call taking and dispatching as per legislated standards and develop recommendations and action plans for the improvement of Kingston CACC’s 911 emergency call taking and dispatching to meet and exceed provincial benchmarks and minimize any potential liability.
Evaluate the Provincial Quality Assurance Program on an ongoing basis and communicate recommendations for program improvement with the Provincial Quality Assurance Program Committee.
Stay up to date on changes in the Patient Journey and other legislation that affect the auditing process and communicate those changes to staff.
