Role involves preprocessing and analysis of clinical imaging and neurophysiology data (MRI, EEG), using programming and statistical methods — health data analytics and clinical research in neuroscience.
One of Canada's Top 10 Research Hospitals, Sunnybrook Research Institute is developing innovations in care for the more than 1.3 million patients the hospital cares for annually.
Sunnybrook Research Institute is the research enterprise of Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre, a teaching hospital fully affiliated with the University of Toronto. Research spans three Toronto-based campuses, eight programs and three scientific platforms. Our main aims are to understand and prevent disease, and to develop treatments that enhance and extend life. Our vision is to invent the future of health care. Each year, we conduct about $100 million in research across 500,000 square feet, including in the world’s first Centre for Research in Image-Guided Therapeutics.
The Hurvitz Brain Sciences Program focuses on treating and researching complex brain conditions, building on decades of expertise in brain disease management. Sunnybrook is a pioneer in neuromodulation, a rapidly advancing field that uses innovative technologies to target brain circuits for treating various brain disorders. The Harquail Centre for Neuromodulation (HCN) is among the first to offer a full spectrum of neuromodulation therapies in a state-of-the-art facility. With internationally recognized researchers, HCN focuses on minimally invasive technologies to address the root causes of conditions such as Alzheimer's, Parkinson’s, ALS, essential tremor, brain tumors, major depression, and OCD. Our experts are committed to developing personalized, cutting-edge treatments, expanding our impact locally and globally as the field continues to evolve.
We are seeking a highly motivated Research Assistant to support Dr. Benjamin Davidson’s ongoing focused ultrasound thalamotomy project examining clinical and radiographic outcomes. The Research Assistant will work closely with investigators, clinicians, and research staff on studies involving psychiatric populations.
The ideal candidate will possess or be working towards a B.Sc. in medical biophysics, computer science, biomedical engineering, neuroscience, or a related discipline, along with prior research experience working with EEG or fMRI data. Preference will be given to candidates with experience in statistical analysis and coding (e.g., Python, R), and an interest in clinical and translational neuroscience research.
