Business Systems Analyst role at CAMH Foundation supporting systems modernization, business intelligence, CRM/data integrity and integrations within a major mental-health organization — a digital/health informatics function (non-clinical, fundraising/BI focus).
BUSINESS SYSTEMS ANALYST
Toronto / Full-time, Permanent
This role involves remote/work-from-home arrangements with a requirement for a minimum of two (2) days per week working onsite and may be subject to change as the organization works through its hybrid workforce plan and/or changing needs of the Foundation. The Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH) is Canada’s largest mental health teaching hospital and one of the world’s leading research centres in its field. With a dedicated staff of more than 5,000 physicians, clinicians, researchers, educators, and support staff, CAMH offers outstanding clinical care to more than 38,000 patients each year. CAMH Foundation is charged with raising and stewarding funds in support of CAMH. Its role is to help transform the way we understand and address mental illness by raising awareness and increasing engagement across the country. The Operations team (segment: Business Intelligence) is accountable for information management of our donor constituent database and supporting the CAMH Foundation to drive data-led decision-making through data analytics, data mining, data visualization, data tools, and infrastructure. THE OPPORTUNITY:
Reporting to the Senior Manager, Business Technology Solutions, the Business Systems Analyst supports the delivery of systems modernization and continuous improvement initiatives across the Foundation. The role is responsible for gathering and documenting business and system requirements, supporting solution design and implementation, and ensuring alignment with established processes and standards.
Working collaboratively with stakeholders, internal IT teams, and vendors, the Business Systems Analyst contributes to improving business processes and system utilization while providing ongoing operational and user support. The role places a strong emphasis on understanding and supporting core business rules and high-impact operational workflows, ensuring consistency, data integrity, and alignment across systems. This role operates on defined initiatives or components of larger projects, with guidance on more complex or high-impact work.
Compensation & Benefits:
Salary is competitive and based on experience, with a hiring range of $70,562.00 to $80,083.00 annually.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Work closely with stakeholders across the Foundation to gather, document, and validate business, functional, and system requirements
Translate business needs into clear, structured requirements, use cases, and test cases under the guidance of senior team members
Support the documentation and maintenance of business rules and system logic, ensuring alignment across platforms and processes
Contribute to solution design by analyzing options and providing recommendations for review
Analyze and support improvements to high-impact operational workflows
Support the development, testing, and implementation of system solutions and enhancements across the Foundation
Participate in user acceptance testing (UAT), including test planning, execution, defect tracking, and resolution support
Assist in the coordination of system releases, ensuring alignment with business requirements, business rules, data standards, downstream reporting needs with minimal disruption to operations
Provide post-implementation support, including issue investigation, resolution, and escalation as required
Provide support to Foundation staff through the Foundation IT Service Desk, resolves or escalates issues, co-ordinates technology support issues with the CAMH IMG staff
Coordinates work with vendors, ensures work is completed as expected, monitors vendor work for follow-up on action items or deliverables
Work with Foundation staff to document and improve business processes
Identify opportunities for process improvements and operational efficiencies, and support the implementation of approved changes
Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation for systems, processes, and user guides
Support and facilitate meetings, workshops, and working sessions; independently lead sessions
Develop training materials and deliver end-user training to support system adoption and effective use
WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO THE TEAM
3-5 years of experience in business systems analysis or a related role. A combination of relevant education and experience may be considered.
PMP designation or similar would be an asset.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and experience applying these skills to resolve application design considerations and technical issues.
Strong organizational skills to juggle multiple tasks within the constraints of timelines and budgets.
Strong analysis skills are required, with a focus on gathering and understanding requirements prior to recommending solutions.
Ability to define clear solution specifications from requirements and assist the implementation with validation of features against the requirements and business needs.
Ability to provide detailed estimates of effort and timelines for assigned work and deliverables, especially related to solution design and implementation.
Broad knowledge of applications, Microsoft 365, Microsoft Azure, CRM solutions, ERP solutions and Blackbaud technologies used in non-profits
Experience implementing process improvements in conjunction with technology, system implementations, or business transformation initiatives.
Knowledge of Lean Six Sigma, process/workflow optimization, and continuous improvement methodologies, with certification considered an asset.
Experience working with or supporting business rules, system configurations, and operational workflows across integrated systems is an asset
Understanding of how system processes and configurations impact data integrity, reporting, and downstream business operations
A degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, Commerce, or related technical field.
