Senior project management role focused on planning, designing and implementing clinical programs and monitoring clinical/financial KPIs; works with Decision Support and external health agencies (MOH/OH) and supports program/system implementations — aligned with healthcare project management/clinical informatics initiatives.

About this role

The Project Manager III - Clinical Projects and Operations is responsible for planning and delivering initiatives in the clinical programs across Unity Health’s three sites. Working in partnership with senior clinical program directors, clinical managers and various support departments, the Project Manager III supports the design and implementation of both corporate and clinical projects. The role is specifically aligned to priorities in Unity Health’s Annual Operating Plan, which includes the strategic plan, quality improvement plan and program goal and objectives.

Project Management Responsibilities

  • Plans, designs and delivers clinical projects at both the program and corporate level. Relies on and utilizes full knowledge of the reporting cycle and large-scale project characteristics to appropriately/effectively lead and facilitate large scale projects.
  • Conducts need assessments and gap analysis to facilitate defining project scope, goals, plans, deliverables, schedules/ timelines, etc.,
  • Communicates complex project plan and expectations to team members and stakeholders, in a timely and clear fashion to ensure project goals can be optimally achieved.
  • Escalates matters appropriately to project sponsors while proposing corrective action plans.
  • Identifies and resolves issues and concerns that may hamper project activities, scope or timelines.
  • Works collaboratively with various senior leaders including Clinical Vice Presidents, Senior Clinical Program Directors, and Clinical Managers etc.

Business Operations Management

  • Monitors key performance indicators, including financial and clinical data, and provide strategies to correct variances.
  • Works with clinical teams to optimize program revenues.
  • Liaises with finance, decision support, HR and other departments to support day to day program operations.
  • Completes financial and data reconciliations for MOH, OH and other external agencies
  • Leads and participates in program and stakeholder meetings, workgroups, committees, advisory groups, council and/or other relevant meetings to support clinical program activities.

Qualifications

  • Completion of a recognized Bachelor’s Degree required
  • Master's degree in related field preferred
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent required
  • Eight (8) to Ten (10) or more years project management experience in a health care environment required; with lean black belt preferred
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills 
  • Effective problem recognition and problem-solving skills with the ability to deal with situations where information is difficult to obtain, complex or ambiguous
  • Detail oriented with excellent analytical skills related to proposal development/project management 
  • Ability to manage multiple and often complex projects simultaneously 
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and motivate project staff and others to achieve a common goal 
  • Ability to interact with people from all disciplines/levels, be flexible/adaptable to change and maintain confidentiality 
  • Ability to work well independently and collaboratively as a team player with a variety of staff/stakeholders to undertake detailed analysis, report generation and project implementation
