Position Description

We are currently looking for a Senior Project Coordinator to join the Project Management Office (PMO) with a focus on network infrastructure and projects. The Information Services Department of the Information Management and Technology Portfolio provides an opportunity to work in a challenging and rewarding environment, coupled with cutting edge technology.

The successful candidate will be someone who has a history of leveraging formal project management processes and tools within network related initiatives, blending technical experience with an understanding of project management methodology. 

Reporting to the Senior Manager of PMO, the Senior Project Coordinator will be:

  • Work alongside our Network Services Team to independently coordinate activities, logistics, and schedules related to a series of Network Services projects.
  • Develop and manage project artifacts (e.g. Charter, RAID log, Budgets) aligned with SickKids formal project methodology.
  • Leading designated work packages and be accountable for all aspects of their success, either as part of a larger initiative or independently.
  • Working efficiently, combining solid administrative and computer skills with an interest and skills in project management, process improvement working with teams and change management.
  • Planning project activities, prepare reports, and ensure project communications plans are met

Here's What You'll Get To Do

Project and Operational Management

  • Lead and coordinate the delivery of network project activities with internal or external stakeholders.
  • Manage the activities and progress of identified initiatives to ensure they remain on schedule and budget.
  • Report on project progress to internal stakeholders

Logistics/Administration

  • Maintain existing databases and project files including project contacts, timesheets, resources, and reports.
  • Supporting project activities and work packages as required.
  • Organize and minute committee meetings when required.
  • Other duties may be assigned as required.

Communication

  • Develop and execute comprehensive communication plans for initiatives, as required.
  • Create, update and disseminate project reports, newsletters, website and other materials.

Here's What You'll Need

  • Bachelor's Degree or a Business Management Certificate
  • Must have 5+ years experience being a part of, or leading, a project team 
  • Must have experience working on network infrastructure related initiatives (network hardware, WAN/LAN initiatives etc...) and knowledge of basic network architecture 
  • Experience in healthcare would be an asset
  • PMP or CAPM certification would be an asset
  • Flexible and adept at multi-tasking in a busy, fast-paced, interesting and challenging environment
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize work load and to work confidently under pressure on tight deadlines
  • Demonstrated ability to be self-directed
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Proficiency with MS Office, Word, Excel and Power Point
  • Ability to work around busy stakeholders' schedule
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Employment Type: One year CONTRACT with health benefits & possibility of converting to PERMANENT.
