About the Role
The Senior Business Analyst acts as a key link between business needs and technology solutions. This role plays a leadership function in business improvement initiatives, translating organizational priorities into effective technology-enabled outcomes.
The Senior Business Analyst leads the progression from conceptual design to solution implementation while ensuring alignment with enterprise architecture and organizational priorities. As a trusted advisor and change agent, this position guides stakeholders through complex decisions, resolves competing priorities, and supports the successful delivery of initiatives in a dynamic healthcare environment.
This role requires strong technical knowledge, business acumen, and the ability to interpret how solution design choices impact broader systems, stakeholders, and service delivery outcomes.
What You’ll Do
Reporting to the Manager, Tertiary Care Services, you will:
• Act as a strategic liaison between business and technical teams, translating business needs into clear requirements and solutions
• Lead and support changes to business processes and applications
• Conduct feasibility studies and develop business cases to support decision-making and service improvement
• Gather, analyze, and document business and system requirements
• Facilitate stakeholder engagement to build consensus on solution design and implementation
• Monitor current, new, and emerging services and technologies
• Evaluate industry trends and jurisdictional approaches to identify opportunities for innovation and improvement
• Develop detailed technical documentation, including user and system requirements
• Support implementation of new technologies within a constantly evolving environment
• Communicate effectively with stakeholders, team members, and clients
• Build strong relationships and provide high-quality customer service
• Rapidly develop an understanding of business processes and respond to changing needs
What You’ll Bring to the Team
• A post-secondary degree in Computer Science or a related field. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
• Minimum five years of experience in a Business Analyst or similar role, preferably within an integrated IT or healthcare environment.
• Experience with business needs analysis, business process improvement methodologies, and requirements gathering
• Knowledge of project management methodologies and processes
• Experience in feasibility analysis, business case development, and agile methodologies including facilitating agile ceremonies
• Proven documentation, communication, and facilitation skills
• Experience supporting healthcare analytics, systems, or cloud-based analytics environments is an asset.
• IIBA Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP) designation and/or a PMP certification is considered an asset.
